Your Glide ARTventure tour begins at Mount Dora C at 847 E. 5th Ave Mount Dora, FL. Here you will receive hands on training to safely operate a Segway PT before heading out to Donnelly Park to get comfortable and accustomed to handling your unit.  We then regroup and head to the famous Van Gogh House to learn about the history and evolution of the inspiration behind the homes exterior painting and how it caught the world’s attention. We then glide through the historic downtown business district where your guide can make some recommendations for shopping and dining as you learn more history about Mount Dora. Stop for a quick check at Sunset park and learn about the art installations there as well as some history about the railroad, the chamber, and other notable buildings in the city’s core. 

Travel down Royellou Ln to see a dumpster painted as part of a city public art project and then head to the historic Lakeside Inn, built in 1883 and continues to be Central Florida’s oldest continuously running hotel. The gatehouse on the grounds now houses artwork for purchase from local artists in the area.

 The tour continues through Simpson’s cove where Mount Dora hosts multiple sculptures as part of their new and expanding Mount Dora Waterfront Art Walk. Glide past the iconic lighthouse, the bronze aligator, and into beautiful Palm Island Park for some great photo ops while we weave through intriguing nature paths and explore the raised boardwalk over the water’s edge. 

We’ll then head back downtown as you guide leads you through the downtown Art District where multiple artist galleries and artist co-ops are set up for sales and art classes before we head back to our origination at MDCA.
